International Christian Academy Online holds that…God Is and He eternally exists in three persons – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, we believe that He has communicated Himself to mankind through the Holy Scriptures and that they are the inspired, inerrant Word of God, both the Old Testament and the New Testament. God has created man by a direct act, and man is created in the image of God. Of his own volition man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. Hence, human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners in thought and deed. God became incarnate through the virgin birth and He is known as LORD and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God. He died in place of all men for the sins of mankind by shedding His blood on the Cross. Jesus Christ was bodily resurrected from the tomb, He ascended to the right hand of God, and He will personally return in power and glory. He has power to save men from sin. Mankind may have new birth by the regeneration of the Holy Spirit, Who gives the gift of eternal life by the grace of God. The indwelling Holy Spirit enables the Christian to live a godly life.

The values of International Christian Academy Online are fixed in a Christian worldview and guided by its vision, mission and statement of faith. It is from this belief system that International Christian Academy Online answers several key philosophical questions. What are our core values? Who is responsible for the education of the child? What is the nature of the student? What is the teaching/learning process? What is the role of the teacher?
What Are Our Core Values?
At the heart of every person's educational experience is a set of core values. Christians everywhere know the importance of providing their students with an engaging educational program built on their students’ individual strengths. At the core, then, International Christian Academy Online holds that God is important both in His character and His works. The individual is important since he is made uniquely in the Image of God and is one for whom He died. The family is important since it is God’s institution to protect and educate the next generation. The Church is important because it is God’s institution commissioned to communicate His message to the world community. The educational process plays an important role in the development of the whole man as he matures to the point where he can follow the mandate of God to have dominion over the earth (Gen 1:28).
Who is responsible for the education of the student?
Since the Scriptures teach that the education of young people is the responsibility of the parents (Deut 6:7) and the Church (Matt 28: 19, 20), International Christian Academy envisions serving young people worldwide by coming alongside their parents and assisting them. Furthermore, the Academy seeks to minister and provide supplementary services to the many faith-based organizations worldwide that are involved in the educating of all people everywhere. It is the intent of International Christian Academy Online to present students with an education developed from a Christian worldview.
King Solomon stated that “… though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him, and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecc. 4:12. Parents that teach their children at home readily admit that teaching is a laborious undertaking. As these home educators enlist the support of their church, the weight of the labor is lightened. When home educators find a school that will further minister with them in their grand endeavor, they understand more fully that “…a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
What is the nature of the student?
The Academy recognizes the teaching that, due to man’s fallen or sinful nature, discipline is needed to train the will and to build redeeming character, behavior, and habits in the student. Paul identifies mankind as individuals who are unique and possess special gifts, talents, and abilities (1Cor. 12). By virtue of these differences, the Christian parent and Academy teacher will attempt to reach and teach each individual student where he is, academically and spiritually. International Christian Academy Online delivers an educational program that utilizes an individualized, personalized instructional model that is tailored to meet the individual learning needs of students and is designed to provide measurable evidence that a student has traveled from a prescribed point of entry to a pre-determined point of departure. The individualizing process provides each student with appropriate learning tasks at an appropriate point in time with a given set of appropriate standards and content.
What IsThe Teaching/Learning Process?
The teaching/learning process brings into play an interaction of various contexts (community, family, and school) that join together in the student’s education. A student presents a set of prior knowledge, an intellectual capacity, and a style of learning and motivation, both internal and external. The student’s parent-teacher brings a set of knowledge, skills, and competencies, which are implemented through planning, management, and instruction that engage the student. The engagement can be based on conversations between an adult guide and the student or an interaction with a computer mediated set of instructions that become an essential personalized part of the learning process. This configuration of personalized instruction makes sure that personalized feedback regularly takes place. Through personal contacts with their parent-teacher, students have varied opportunities to correct, apply, and broaden what is learned. Furthermore, these interactions provide teachable moments at which parent-teachers and academy teachers can provide further interventions, consultation, guidance, motivation, and/or instruction about an application.
What is the role of the teacher?
In this view of the teaching/learning process, education is modeled as well as taught. Christian parents posses a spiritual sense of a rightness and wrongness of the world that they desire to pass on to their students. They are reminded of this when Moses states, “… teach these words diligently to your children, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you wake up.” (Deut 6:7) They also know the importance of a teaching/learning process dedicated, not to personal self-realization, but to developing empathy and respect for others. Parent-teachers know that without a proper spiritual understanding their student will not develop a proper concern for their community nor become active contributors to that community. Personalized instruction brings to life the things that ought to be learned. The parent-teachers and academy teachers act as “models” that personify life’s challenges and help to bring about learning. They are “motivators” who encourage. They are “guides” who help lead and direct students to a transformed life. Although at a distance, the Academy teachers complement this role by working in tandem with the parents, helping them understand the school’s purpose and program so that they effectively fill their roles. Thus, the distant teacher does not replace the instruction of the church or the home, but serves to assist with the student’s education
