Denver, Colorado
Timothy and Susan Forbes live in the “Mile-High City,” nestled at the foot of the Colorado Rockies. This Wednesday , Susan has her students (children) working at their separate workstations. The Forbes family kids can work simultaneously because they have a LAN wireless router. Billy, a 4 th grader, is close by Mom in the den where he is busy doing the day’s history lesson. Penny is off in Dad’s office working on math problems with her laptop. Robert is at his bedroom desk, surfing the Internet for a reference he wants to use in the essay he is writing for his 11 th grade Language Arts project. After getting Billy started with history, Susan places the lunch dishes in the dishwasher and plans to help Robert with his writing project. After that, she needs to make a dental appointment for her husband and check out the math problems that Penny has completed. At 3:00 pm, Susan intends to take Penny and Robert to the church where they will practice volleyball and basketball. Before they all head out, Mom will make sure that everyone has carefully stored their subject disks. These are the things Mom’s do, you know.
